Smart L-Shape Layout for Bathroom Renovation Mentone

Designed for a compact footprint, this Mentone ensuite adopts a smart L-shape layout to maximise both function and movement. The vanity, shower, and toilet are arranged along two adjoining walls, keeping the centre of the room open and creating a clear, efficient circulation path. This configuration allows the space to feel larger and more comfortable, despite its modest size.

A frameless top-track sliding shower screen was selected in place of a hinged door, eliminating swing clearance and saving valuable floor area. The clean glass panels maintain uninterrupted sightlines, while the sliding system provides practical, everyday access without compromising the minimalist aesthetic. Together, these decisions deliver a highly efficient layout tailored for small-space living.

Considered Materials & Warm Contemporary Finishes

Material selection plays a defining role in shaping the ensuite’s calm and cohesive atmosphere. Terrazzo-look tiles wrap the walls and floors to create visual continuity, helping the room feel more expansive while offering a durable, low-maintenance surface suited to everyday use. Soft grey tiles within the shower introduce subtle contrast and depth without disrupting the neutral palette.

Natural timber joinery adds warmth and texture, balancing the cool stone finishes and bringing a welcoming, residential quality to the space. Together, timber, terrazzo, and glass form a refined, modern material language that is both timeless and practical.
